Transition, alongside Portfolio Development and Customer Thought Leadership, is
one of MAN Energy Solutions’ three strategic pillars. A new eLearning offering
will support this strategy, as well as helping to digitize internal processes
and meet rising demand for continuing professional development in the company.
eLearning courses have only been available to a very limited extent. A link
sent by email took people to the course, which could not be taken more than
once or at just any time, however. The new eAcademy offers far more
possibilities. Among other things, all employees have access to the entire
range of trainings and can put their own bespoke learning content together.
Their learning history is displayed directly in the system and can be called up
at any time. Employees can book courses independently, while managers can
recommend courses to their team. Target-group-specific offerings are also
possible. The successful cooperation project involving Human Resources
Development, IT and MAN PrimeServ is available throughout the company.
“Initially, we will
be offering product trainings developed by MAN PrimeServ. Our product safety
trainings, which have been given a uniform design based on a new concept, will
also be made available via the eAcademy,” project lead Vera Peukert explains.
Further courses covering the complete training portfolio will follow. Digital
learning will not replace classroom trainings completely, of course. Workshops
and seminars will continue to be held. “We see eLearning offerings as a useful
and necessary supplement, particularly with a view to supporting independent,
autonomous learning. At the same time, eLearning courses can be used as an
introduction or supplement to a classroom training, or as a discrete module,”
