are required to have their vessels inspected and serviced in dry dock every
five years. To avoid complicated last-minute solutions at this scheduled
service, including spiraling costs and lost time, MDT’s new
online pre-docking inspection portal is now available to customers.
With its new service,
MDT is both simplifying the procedure and generating revenue. Eight months
before their dry dock appointment, customers automatically receive an email
reminder with a link to the online platform, where they can view their data,
find out about the benefits of an inspection before dry docking, and request a
call from an MDT expert. Colleagues from the International Group Companies take
care of customer contact and sales, while the inspection is carried out by MAN
PrimeServ personnel. They provide a detailed report with cost estimates and
retrofit recommendations for customers to optimize their vessel for the future.
The online portal lists all the findings to ensure that the period in dry dock
can be planned reliably in a time-efficient and cost-effective manner.
This new service
package reinforces MDT’s position as a solution provider. The
cross-functional project involving the IGCs, Two-Stroke Spare Parts, Technical
Service, Retrofit and Supply Chain simplifies internal workflows and ensures
are always in tiptop condition.
