Gauri Purandare has worked at our site in Aurangabad, India, for nearly 13 years. Alongside her job in Product Information Management, the company gives her the opportunity to develop other talents and interests.

In India, the boundaries between personal and working life are quite fluid. Contact and team spirit are much more intensive than in other countries when the workday ends too. According to Gauri Purandare, who has worked at Engineering Center India for nearly 13 years, this has an impact on cooperation in everyday working life: “Our corporate culture is based on openness, respect and solidarity. This has its roots in Indian culture, where family is a high priority. And we at MAN Energy Solutions feel like a big, global family with 14,000 members.”

Wide-ranging knowledge and diverse contacts

Gauri studied Computer Science and has an MBA. She now works for Product Information Management in Aurangabad in the role of project coordinator. Working with her team, it is her job to provide customer information and technical documentation across the entire spectrum of our portfolio, that is to say Two-Stroke, Four-Stroke, Small Bore and Turbomachinery. Her knowledge and diverse contacts with the sites in Germany, Denmark and Switzerland are correspondingly wide-ranging. She is constantly drawing on her experience to initiate improvements. “Among other things, I helped to transfer MAN standards to the technical documentation for steam turbines from Bengaluru and initiate labeling of spare parts for gas turbines and other turbo products.”

I find the opportunity to play an active part beyond the bounds of my actual duties very satisfying personally. I learn something new every day, and am able to extend my networks and improve my time management.

Developing new skills and talents

But Gauri also appreciates the freedom that MAN Energy Solutions gives her to develop other talents and skills. “I’m very interested in communication and cultural activities. I have, for example, helped with the Future Fair, various events to mark International Women’s Day and, of course, Family Days in Aurangabad. I find this opportunity to play an active part beyond the bounds of my actual duties very satisfying personally. I learn something new every day, and am able to extend my networks and improve my time management. I’m very grateful to my superiors and colleagues for that.”

Working together to achieve a great goal

Working for an employer who has a clear vision for decarbonizing the global economy and is implementing it systematically makes Gauri Purandare proud: “I look forward to using my knowledge and ideas in the future too, and working with my many colleagues in India and abroad to achieve this great goal. This will influence my career path at MAN Energy Solutions going forward and enrich me personally.”
