Four students from Shanghai Maritime University have completed MAN PrimeServ’s first training program in China. All four are now qualified service engineers and working for MAN ES in the field.

A new training program in China is encouraging young talent and at the same time ensuring sustainable growth for the company, as suitable service engineers are hard to find. The program teaches basic knowledge, but mastering practical skills is especially important. Four young men worked in production at MAN Energy Solutions in China for around six months before being trained in the field for two years. Under the guidance of an experienced mentor, they also carried out special assignments, such as the 30,000-hour service on an 8L51/60DF engine. After around three years, Li Qinnan, Wang Kunhuan, Lai Songzu and Zhang Haonan successfully completed their training as junior service engineers. “MAN Energy Solutions is the leading diesel engine manufacturer with the best technology, the best engineers and excellent career prospects. That is why I applied for the training program,” says Li Qinnan regarding his motivation.

After three years of training, Lai Songzu has finally arrived in practice which makes him really proud.

His colleague Lai Songzu is more than happy about choosing MAN too: “I am very grateful to have been given this fabulous opportunity to learn and work. I can only recommend this program to other students,” Lai Songzu explains. Since qualifying, the four young service engineers have been working in China and New Zealand, where they have been looking after our customers’ interests with great commitment. Following on from their great success, motivated trainees are being sought again in 2023. “From my point of view, the program is a complete success. The young talent can get to grips with our state-of-the-art technology and so ensure the sustainable growth of our company. We need this new blood in order to implement our corporate strategy,” Mikael Adler, Head of Region Asia Pacific, points out.
